Team BMC Expands Roster with Swiss U23 Rider

With the priority of developing young Swiss talent, Team BMC has signed Maxime l'Homme. The Swiss XC specialist will represent BMC’s Pro Factory Team in all XC races in 2024, including the World Cup Series.

Team BMC is delighted to have the talented Swiss multifaceted cycling athlete on board. Team manager Amaël Moinard states that signing L'Homme aligns with Team BMC’s goal to develop Swiss talent. "This is a reinforcement of BMC's roots as a Swiss team We’re excited and optimistic about what the future holds!”

Alex Moos, Team BMC Sports Director, found L’Homme’s ambitious personality and talent to be the main reason to bring him on board one of the leading teams in the XC scene. 

Moos says: “He is technically skilled and never gives up. His evolution in the 2023 season was impressive, and we expect him to continuously break into the top 10 in World Cups throughout the 2024 season. With L’Homme, we are continuing to lead the way in different categories, keeping our scouting level high.” 

L’Homme has experience in multiple cycling disciplines including gravel, road, cyclocross, and XC. However, his preference lies with thicker tires: “My focus is on XC now, especially for the World Cups and World Championships.”

The 20-year-old Swiss rounded off the 2023 season with a sixth-place finish in Snowshoe’s World Cup, a result that motivated him to work hard during the winter to be ready as soon as the World Cup season starts, particularly after Team BMC showed interest upon seeing his recent progress and performances.

L’Homme continues: “I am so happy that after a lot of hard work last season, an opportunity with Team BMC arose. I’m incredibly motivated to work even harder this season andI hope to prove that I am a consistent top 10 World Cup finisher in the U23 category. I also hope to get a top 10 in the World Championships this year.”

One of L’Homme’s idols in professional cycling is Team BMC’s former pilot Filippo Colombo. “That’s because he is able to combine road and mountain biking at an exceptionally high level.”

Seeing Colombo in BMC’s colors for multiple years ‘feels like following his footsteps’ to L’Homme.  “BMC is a remarkable brand in all cycling disciplines. The Fourstroke 01, with its revolutionary autodrop, feels even years after its launch from another planet. With the team’s rich history in professional cycling, it is only a privilege to be racing in these colors this year.”

The first time the new addition to Team BMC will be racing on the BMC Fourstroke 01 is in the Shimano Supercup in Banyoles at the end of February.

In the days prior to the event, Team BMC will present the new bike, the new kit, and its team roster for the 2024 season.
